2008 King Quad Accessories

the evening of Saturday, August 21, the great mountaineer, dean of GISM and valuable contributor to this year's festival Spiro Porta Xydias held its conference entitled "Attack on climbing." With his usual skill and exceptional analytical skills gave an amazingly accurate picture of what is now the situation of mountaineering.

Spiro is a living monument of real climbing. Historical memory of whole decades and generations of climbers, has always looked to the mountains with a romantic spirit deeply and with conviction, although this has often placed in contrast with the present and his views "sport" of mountaineering.

Along the two-hour conference traced with precision and great detail all the incredible highlights of the history of mountaineering, from its birth with the conquest of Mont Blanc in 1787, up to the latest developments. With a series of slides accompanying recounted the story of all the great personalities of the long history of mountaineering, citing the major companies and points of turn printed approach and techniques of climbing. Particular attention was devoted to recent developments of this practice, always in between sport and the enthusiasm and idealistic philosophy, which now seems to prevail in a clear conception of the sport, that it demeans the essence and Spiro brings the climber to omnipotence and the dangerous forms of disrespect towards the mountain. As a man of faith and an incurable romantic, only a return to touring can save from the 'attack' warp by new approaches to the mountain.

the conference Salsa was also attended Hannibal, Philip Zolezzi and another great climbing, Armando Aste, a close friend of Spiro.
