Presentation of the new edition of "The acid test" of Charles Pastorino

later in the afternoon of Sunday, August 22, after the conference to present the work of Trincerone was the presentation of the new edition of the masterpiece of Charles Pastorino "The acid test" (Egon, 2010). The conference presentation of the book was kept by Francis De Nicola, Paolo Ottonello, Gios Geremia, Mario Martinelli, songs and Gregory Charles Pastorino.

The conference presentation will start with some 'delay due to the aftermath of the discussions on the work in the summer and Trincerone due and necessary explanations of the work themselves from the pool of experts who took part. The occasion is very important: it is resubmitted to the public in a new edition of a forgotten masterpiece of literature on World War I, "The Red Badge of " Charles Pastorino. The new edition has been edited by Egon ( http://www.egonedizioni.it/catalogo/egon/La 20prova%%% 20del 20fuoco.html ), with an afterword by Francis De Nicola, who introduced the conference. Expert in literature on World War I, De Nicola introduced to the public this author, vallarsero adoption, in the places of the festival left a memory that now risks getting lost, talking about his training, his rural origins never forget the origins that have given him the extraordinary ability to describe landscapes with a few exciting details.

The book is a vivid and vital story, almost a diary of the war fought by Charles Pastorino, Ligurian Masone, mountains of Vallarsa, between 1916 and 1917, before being captured by the Austrians and imprisoned in a prison camp. As Gregory says later piece, you can read in the pages of the book will establish the link with the visceral Pastorino Vallarsa, which will become a new sort of native land, after the terrible evidence that the war will force him and his entire battalion. Everything from minor events to the most violent, is described with a few well-measured particular, without indulging in easy rhetoric, returning an image for vivid, true experience of life in the trenches and war in the mountains, as they have been able to do a few other authors, both in Italy and elsewhere in Europe. Even for this operation edition of the Egon, sponsored by the association strongly among the rocks and the sky, it is extremely important because it allows the public to reproduce a book of exceptional value that was likely to be forgotten, because of editorial logic often related only to the profit and non- the value of books.

The conference was also attended by the descendants of the writer, including his namesake Charles Pastorino, in addition to the mayor Paolo Ottonello alderman and the culture of the town of Mason, helping to describe the many similarities between the native places of Pastorino and Vallarsa. Similarities which have undoubtedly helped to create and strengthen Pastorino the very strong bond with this land, that will be revisited on a regular basis after his return from captivity.
